Philippe Entremont, a known French pianist, will play a recital at the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) on February 7.

The virtuoso will bring the enjoyment of music and the rhythm of Beethoven to audiences in Beijing by playing four sonatas, namely Piano Sonata No. 18 in E-flat Major, Piano Sonata No. 14 in C-sharp Minor, Piano Sonata No. 30 in E Major and Piano Sonata No. 23 in F Minor.

Born into a family of musicians in Reims, France, Entremont debuted at Carnegie Hall in New York at the age of 18, playing the piano concertos of Jolivet and Liszt. He later became a conductor and had experience conducting many music ensembles such as the San Francisco Symphony and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

One of the most recorded artists, Entremont has visited China many times and performed with Chinese pianist Lang Lang at the NCPA during the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008.

Tickets for the recital are now available on the official website of the NCPA www.chncpa.org.
