An angry father in Taizhou, East China's Zhejiang Province, gave his primary school-aged son a special punishment for not finishing his homework - a time-out by the grave of his ancestor at night.

The father, who had been angered by his son's reluctance to do his homework, decided to take him to a nearby cemetery for a time-out so he could "reflect deeply" on himself in front of his deceased ancestor, reported the Paper on Saturday.

He left the boy there and then went to make a phone call a few meters away. When he returned, he found that the boy had disappeared without a trace in the darkness.

Fearing that the child might encounter danger, the regretful father immediately called the police, who later found the boy on a road down the mountain after a 40-minute search.

Fortunately, no harm had come to the child.

Netizens said now the father should "reflect deeply" on himself.
