A two-carat "pigeon egg" diamond ring worth over 100,000 yuan ($14,800) belonging to a new couple filming a video for their wedding ceremony was accidentally picked up by a passer-by, who thought it was just a filming prop.
In surveillance footage that caught the moment of the incident, which happened in Xiamen, East China's Fujian Province, a box containing the ring was dropped out of the window of a moving car, and was later picked up by a man on the road, reported Xinhua News Agency Tuesday.
When reached by police, the man, who was traveling in Xiamen with his family, said they originally thought the diamond was a fake and a prop for filming since there were many couples taking wedding photos nearby.
The ring was finally returned to its owners.
"I wouldn't believe it was real ring either as I never believed that good thing would come to me," a netizen joked.
