An art exhibition of oil paintings from dozens of well-established Chinese artists kicked off on Sunday in the city of Duyun, Southwest China's Guizhou Province, to exhibit the unique culture as well as the distinctive natural landscape of the Qiannan Bouyei and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Southwest China's Guizhou Province.

The art exhibition features nearly 200 oil paintings created by renowned Chinese artists such as He Duoling, the pioneer of the Chinese "scar art" movement, and Luo Zhongli, who is best known for his work Father (1980).

The exhibited oil paintings all focus on portraying the scenery, local people and cultural characteristics of the Qiannan Bouyei and Miao Autonomous Prefecture. The exhibition aims to explore the potential and the achievements of ecological civilization construction in this region.

Paving the road for the opening of the exhibition, a similarly themed art event was launched on September 23 to mark the upcoming 4th China Greening Exposition and stress the importance of the green development in China.

The Qiannan Bouyei and Miao Autonomous Prefecture is rich with diverse natural and cultural assets such as mineral resources and the traditional craftsmanship of the Miao ethnic minority. The 4th China Greening Exposition will also be held there when it kicks off later in 2020.

The oil painting exhibition is scheduled to end on November 21.
