North China's Tianjin Municipality found another asymptomatic carrier on Tuesday who works as a dockworker of cold-chain industry in one of Tianjin's ports, local official said.

In an inspection on the city's cold chain workers and mass nucleic acid testing on frozen products, a worker in Dongjiang port in Tianjin's Binhai New Area was found to be a silent carrier and he was transported to a local hospital.

The worker, surnamed Wang, 48, is a dockwoker at the port. He did not show symptoms of fever or cough. A total of 14 people who had close contacts with Wang have been quarantined collectively. Wang's residential community and workplace have been closed off.  

Earlier Tuesday, municipal authorities announced that three samples taken in the city's Nankai district tested weakly positive for coronavirus. The authority swiftly sealed off the locations where those samples came from, and sent the relevant personnel to hospital for quarantine. 

The district center for disease control conducted another round of screening of the places, and so far found all samples tested negative for the virus. 

Tianjin Municipality announced it has entered wartime mode after reporting a loader in a cold storage was infected by COVID-19 through cold chain food imports. The city detected a positive sample for COVID-19 on the outer packaging of a frozen pork knuckle sample imported from Bremen, Germany.

The report of a positive case from Tianjin came after Dezhou, East China's Shandong Province, and Taiyuan, North China's Shanxi Province, detected the novel coronavirus on the packaging of food products imported via Tianjin. 

Chinese customs have said they will suspend imports from companies for a week if frozen food products test positive, and for a month if a supplier's products test positive for a third time or more.
