45 close contacts of confirmed asymptomatic COVID-19 case quarantined after arrival in S.China resort Sanya

A South China's tourist city has identified two tourists who recently stayed at a hotel in the city as close contacts to a confirmed asymptomatic COVID-19 case in Northwest China's Shaanxi, the city 's anti-epidemic control command office said. 

The two tourists and 43 other contacts to the duo were placed under quarantine, the office said. 

The two close contacts, surnamed Lei and Guan, were traveling together to Sanya, South China's Hainan Province from Xi'an in Shaanxi on Wednesday. They had dined in the same restaurant as an asymptomatic COVID-19 patient at Xi'an airport before departure and were confirmed to be close contacts of the asymptomatic case. 

Through a full epidemiological investigation, it was confirmed that Lei and Guan had worn masks strictly in accordance with requirements in public places throughout their stay in Hainan Province. 

There were a total of 43 people who came into close contact with Lei and Guan in Hainan - 29 people from the same tour group, 12 other people they contacted during their travel in Hainan, and two people in the same flight to Hainan.

The above 45 close contacts were transferred to a hotel for centralized observation and given nucleic acid tests, and the venues where they stayed in Sanya were disinfected.

The nucleic acid test results on all the above the 45 close contacts have come back negative.
