A total of 364 COVID-19 cases were discovered following 13 million nucleic acid tests in Shijiazhuang and Xingtai, Hebei authorities announced. The outbreak scale shows no sign of expanding but more infections are likely to occur.
Virus gene sequencing showed virus strain of Hebei outbreak may have started from overseas. Patient zero likely emerged earlier than December 15, according to the preliminary estimates, officials said.
