US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has spared no effort in spreading the political virus and is a real master of coming up with lies to frame others and calling white black, the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Tuesday.

With about a week of his tenure remaining, the politician on Monday claimed that China was jeopardizing UN efforts and criticized China's activities in international organizations such as the WHO. 

At Tuesday's routine press conference, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian said Pompeo is a real master of making lies and calling black white, as China has always been a constructive force of world peace and maintaining  global order. 

Zhao cited the Chinese top leader's pledges at meetings marking the UN's 75th anniversary as examples of China's actions to embrace multilateralism, including providing another $50 million to the UN COVID-19 Global Humanitarian Response Plan, $50 million to the China-FAO South-South Cooperation Trust Fund (Phase III) and its $10 million donation to UN Women.

The US is the biggest uncertainty that threatens global peace and security and destroys multilateral cooperation. The US unilaterally pulls out of international organizations and bullies others, and uses sanctions to threaten and coerce others, Zhao said. 

The US announced unilaterally that the UN Security Council has resumed sanctions against Iran and used the UN and other platforms to smear other countries, which has met with opposition from the international community, the spokesperson said.
