Northeast China's Jilin Province reported seven new asymptomatic COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, among whom three traveled on a train that runs from Jiamusi, a city in Heilongjiang Province to Beijing on January 5. An urgent search and testing of all passengers on that train has been prompted.

The Jilin Provincial Health Commission said four other cases were close contacts of the three people, and all of them were detected through active screening.

The three asymptomatic cases from Heilongjiang Province were passengers on train K350 from Jiamusi to Beijing on January 5, which had passed through Changchun, Tanggu and Tianjin stations, and they were in the same carriage with two other COVID-19 asymptomatic carriers reported in Jilin on January 11.

From 0:00 to 19:00 on Wednesday, Heilongjiang reported 40 new local cases and 50 asymptomatic infections.

Jilin is now conducting an urgent search for people who were on K350 train on January 5.

The Jilin local health authority required residents to keep an eye on government prevention and control measures, and not fabricate or spread rumors. It also reminded people to pay attention to personal protection and avoid crowds.
