Hairdressing at a salon in Zhengzhou, Central China's Henan Province, has become a more exciting experience after its owners set up mahjong tables, along with tea, snacks and lunch for their customers, in case they get bored when doing their hair.
In a short video circulating on China's Twitter-like microblogging platform Weibo on Tuesday, four ladies were seen playing mahjong as their hairdressers stood behind them doing their hair. It also showed a group of customers sitting around a long table where stacks of snacks and tea were being served.
Hairdressing can be a boring experience, as it normally requires a customer to sit for three to five hours in the shop, said the salon operating manager, surnamed Xu. "However, at our shop you can have fruit, milk tea, coffee, lunch, and even play mahjong to kill time."
"We offer our customers all kinds of board games and refreshments. Unlike traditional salons, we believe the customers' experience matters the most," added Xu.
