Southwest China's Chongqing Municipality, known for its unique combination of urban vibes and mountain scenery, recently built a park on a cliff with a sheer drop of 60 meters, attracting many local residents to take a tour and experience a "walk on the edge."
The park, which extends for some 750 meters along the cliff, took more than three years to build, and was opened to the public recently, China News reported Tuesday. It features classic, elegant Chinese-style buildings with plank roads rising layer by layer, and overlooks the Yangtze River.
It has also preserved the remains of ancient city walls and stilts, allowing tourists to admire the city's history from thousands of years ago while enjoying the city scenery above the river.
"Though I'm scared of heights, I still want to go to have a look at the view," said one netizen on China's Twitter-like social media Sina Weibo.
Some others came up with even more creative ideas. "Why not open a hot pot restaurant underneath the park? That way, you can smell the food up there, a feast both for the eyes and the nose," read one comment accompanied by a drooling face emoji.
