Technologies fired five employees involved in making up and spreading rumors regarding the change of company executives and sale of company assets, The Securities Times reported on Monday.
Huawei said in an announcement that the recent rumors regarding changes to Huawei's management team and business restructuring, which were circulating in WeChat groups and social media platforms, are baseless and have produced serious negative consequences, affecting company business operation, corporate reputation and impacting workers' morale.
The telecom technology giant said that in order to safeguard its legitimate rights and interests, Huawei has officially reported the case to Baogang police station and Shenzhen Public Security Bureau on January 25, 2021.
