A 7-year-old boy in South China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region has recently gone viral on China's social media platforms and earned the nickname "little Spider-Man" thanks to a video of him climbing up a wall with his bare hands and feet, stunning Chinese netizens who praised him for his gift for learning traditional Chinese kung fu.
In the video circulating on China's Twitter-like Sina Weibo on Monday, the boy ran towards the wall from one end of a sofa and jumped onto the corner of the wall, with limbs stretching out against the two sides, lifting his whole body and climbing to the ceiling.
The video sparked a heated discussion among netizens, with many calling the child a "gecko" and "the Chinese version of Spider-Man," a popular cartoon character known for his ability to climb buildings with his bare hands.
Some even said the boy has a natural gift for martial arts.
Other netizens expressed their concerns over the safety of the child, and left comments reminding him to be careful, while suggesting that a safety net be used to protect him in case he fell.
