Israel's decision to lift a ban on importing scrap metal from the Palestinian enclave of Gaza Strip in October 2020 has secured jobs for roughly 6,000 Palestinians.

Israel allows 1,000 tonnes of such metal waste to be imported per week, with each tonne sold for 200 to 280 U.S. dollars, depending on its type and quality.
