A woman in Hangzhou, East China's Zhejiang Province, recently made a decision that she may regret for the rest of her life - undergoing expensive eyebrow tattoo surgery which, instead of bringing her good looks and good luck, ended up looking like two Chinese broadswords.
The woman, surnamed Yuan, paid 60,000 yuan ($9,174) to a stylist at a local beauty salon for the procedure, media reports said on Tuesday.
But after the surgery was completed, she found the new eyebrows were so ugly that she could not even go to work. "The eyebrows are as thick as hammers! They are so dark in color, and they are uneven!" Yuan lamented in a video shared on the internet.
The salon later promised to clean up the tattoos following Yuan's complaint. For a better overall effect, Yuan paid another 39,000 yuan to clean her lash lines and tattoos together, but after three sessions, Yuan's look had not improved. She then asked the shop to refund all her expenses, but only received 50,000 yuan. The local health department has launched an investigation into the case.
