For delivery people in China, there is a problem: Where will their career lead to when they get older? Delivery people work in a business with low requirements of professional skills, but face high demands that require them to be in good physical condition. As they age, their physical strength and energy gradually decline for sure. Thus, they will not be capable enough of their current job. Moreover, due to the nature of their work, it is difficult for them to improve themselves as well as their professional skills through work, which makes them highly "replaceable." In the end, the companies they work for will probably replace them with young blood. In fact, this problem troubles many who work as "flexible employees" in many areas, ranging from drivers of online ride-sharing services to live-streamers. Last year, the Chinese government announced its support for flexible employment in the job market. However, more work needs to be done to guarantee the future of these "flexible employees."
