Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region has received an increasing number of visitors from all over the world. Chen Quanguo, the Party chief of Xinjiang welcomed the envoys from Latin America and the Caribbean who recently visited the region.

Under the strong leadership of the Communist Party of China, Xinjiang has made progress in economic and social development as well as in the improvement of people's quality of life, Chen told the envoys on Monday in Urumqi, capital of Xinjiang. 

The good situation in Xinjiang, where people enjoy social stability and live in peace and happiness, is visible to all, Chen said. "It is one of the most successful human rights cases and the most powerful response to the lies of some international forces against Xinjiang," he noted.

A total of 23 ambassadors and other senior diplomats from 19 Latin American and Caribbean countries toured Xinjiang between May 13 and 17. The delegation visited markets, mosques and companies in Urumqi, Turpan and Hotan, and talked to local families to learn in person about social, economic, cultural, ethnic and religious development in Xinjiang.

Terrorism, separatism and extremism are the common challenges to the whole world, said some members of the delegation during the trip, who noted that they fully understand and support the efforts of the Chinese government to crack down on terrorism and curb extremism. They also mentioned that vocational education and training centers have played an important role in eliminating terrorism and extremism in Xinjiang.

Xinjiang is an inseparable part of China, said the Cuban ambassador to China, Carlos Miguel Pereira Hernández. Cuba strongly opposes the double standards of some Western countries led by the US and is against the politicization of the Xinjiang issue as well as the smearing of China under the guise of human rights, he said.
