Jinshang Consumer Finance
Jinshang Consumer Finance, a financial firm in Taiyuan of North China's Shanxi Province, checked personal credit report without the permission of record owner, according to a report from domestic news site Caijing on Thursday, which was not the first time that Jinshang Consumer Finance had violated the related rules.
The record owner surnamed Fang found a strange check record on her personal credit report at the beginning of this April, which was conducted by Jinshang Consumer Finance on November 4, 2020 for a loan approval.
Fang said she has no idea about why Jinshang Consumer Finance would check her personal credit report because she has no outstanding car or home loans, and also had no prior loan relationship with the firm.
Jinshang Consumer Finance had not responded to the violation yet, said the report.
The check authority of personal credit report of Jinshang Consumer Finance was suspended by the central bank on Wednesday due a scandal involving the firm uploading insulting words on its client's personal credit report.
Jinshang Consumer Finance confirmed the scandal after investigation, and issued an apology.
Media also reported that Jinshang Consumer Finance had been fined for 500,000 yuan ($78,270.55) by the central bank in Taiyuan, for an unauthorized check of personal credit report on August 15, 2019.
