Chinese actress, Jing Tian, who worked with Matt Damon in
The Great Wall, got the deep V neckline of her dress fixed to a traditional style in a promotional photo shoot for the Dragon Boat Festival gala, sparking a heated online debate on whether the broadcaster was excessively careful.
The promo picture showed Jing in an aquamarine layered dress next to another actor in suit. However, netizens later found the dress did not look as it appeared on the promotional photo, showing a flat neckline rather than a deep V neckline.
The modification of the image sparked questions by some netizens who believe this might be overreacting as the original dress is not revealing.
"Don't we have freedom to wear a sexy dress, but not an explicit one?" a Weibo user commented.
However, some netizens believe the modification was correct as this gala was for the Dragon Boat Festival, a day to commemorate the death of an ancient patriotic poet.
Jing Tian played a female general in
The Great Wall, also starred by Matt Damon, Pedro Pascal and Willem Dafoe. She was also in the cast of
Kong: Skull Island.
