Shenzhen, South China's Guangdong Province, has suspended flights departing from Shenzhen to Beijing from June 22 to July 1, flight information platform VariFlight told the Global Times on Tuesday.

Observers said that the measures have been implemented to curb the spread of the virus to other areas, particularly Beijing. Even though direct flights to Beijing are canceled, other routes continue to operate normally, and passengers can transit to Beijing through other cities.

Flights under Shenzhen Airlines, including its joint flights with Air China, Shandong Airlines, and Kunming Airlines have a maximum four flights departing per hour, Shenzhen Airlines will provide ground support for all flights under Air China and its subsidiaries, said VariFlight. China Southern Airlines and its joint flights with Chongqing Airlines can only depart maximum two flights every hour.

Airport ground service agents can handle 2 to 3 departures per unit hour, with the total number of departures should not exceed 70. A total of 3 departures per unit hour cannot occur continuously. 

Shenzhen has been implementing stricter outbound travel restrictions, with all shops in the airport closing and regular disinfection being carried out, as more cases were reported related to the city's airport after 38 confirmed cases were found on a CA868 international flight on June 10.
