Over 1.3 billion doses of COVID-19 vaccines administered in China

More than 1.3 billion doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered across China as of Sunday, the National Health Commission said Monday. The number has increased by 100 million in six days. 

South China's Guangdong Province has the highest number of vaccination doses among all provinces and regions in China, with more than 130 million doses for 71,500 million people. The coverage rate of people who received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine reached 56.76 percent. 

East China's Shandong Province and Central China's Henan Province followed with 87.6 million doses and 82 million doses respectively, as of Wednesday. 

The vaccination rate for people over 18 years old has exceeded 77 percent in Shanghai and 85 percent in North China's Tianjin Municipality.
