A high school teacher of Zhengzhou No. 4 Middle School in Central China's Henan Province, recently amazed the national high school students when he promised to take students who will get a very high score in gaokao, the national college entrance examination, to Xinjiang for a free seven-day trip.

Liu Fugang, who is the head teacher of Zhengzhou No. 4 Middle School, Grade 3, Class 7, promised before gaokao that he would pay for his students who will get 680 or above for a trip to Xinjiang.

Each student's budget is 5,000 yuan ($744), covering air tickets, hotels, meals, and tickets for scenic spots.

After results were released, 12 of his students scored above 680. The teacher kept his promise and decided to take the students to Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, more than 3,000km away from Zhengzhou.

"I will lead the team with my wife, and we will depart on July 20 or 21, with all expenses paid by me," Liu said in a video posted by Pear Video on China's social platform Sina Weibo on Monday.

Many netizens praised the teacher for keeping his promise and sent good wishes for their trip.
