The pumpkin harvest season has started in Lebanon! Visitors to southern Lebanon are amazed by the spectacular view of the rows of colorful pumpkins displayed at the roadside stalls along the major road linking southern Lebanon to the Bekaa Valley.

Pumpkin farming has been popular in many Lebanese regions, especially in southern Lebanon and Bekaa, providing a secure source of income for local farmers. Lebanese usually use pumpkins to cook delicious dishes, especially the Kibbeh, a popular Middle Eastern cuisine prepared with spiced ground meat, onion, pumpkin and grain.
