A new patriotic experience hall has been opened in Zhuzhou, Central China's Hunan Province, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
Zhuzhou is an industrial city neighboring Xiangtan, the hometown of late Chinese leader Mao Zedong. The hall was built on an old abandoned industrial site. The museum used high technology to set up a variety of experience programs aimed at attracting visitors.
On June 30, the patriotic experience center, named Qingshuitang 1956-SoReal Technology and Culture Future Center, was officially opened.
On the first day of opening, visitors used VR to retrace the path their forefathers walked during the Long March. They were also offered the opportunity to experience through VR the century-long glorious history of the Party with full-sensory stimulation.
The XR technology being applied is an immersive experience that uses three technologies -- AR, VR and MR -- at the same time to achieve a seamless transition between the virtual world and the real world.
The patriotism experience hall is part of the renovation project of Zhuzhou's old industrial park. According to the corporation in charge, the renovation project covers an area of about 105 mu (70,000 square meters), with a total investment of about 1 billion yuan ($154.3 million). A parent-child technology park, an intelligent sports center and an emergency experience hall will also be built. All of these venues will be powered by the leading 5G+XR technology.
"After the completion of the project, it will be dedicated to promoting digital and intelligent applications, and hopefully play a role in the four major industries of science and innovation, manufacturing, cultural tourism and commerce," Yang Xiaobin, head of Qingshuitang investment group said at the opening ceremony.
On the night of the opening ceremony, a grand light show was also held. On the 133-meter chimney relic, which was the highest in Zhuzhou's old industrial zone, the 100-year history of the CPC was displayed using lasers, digital images, glowing light effects and musical performance.
