Huawei had recruited two graduates recently from Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) in Wuhan of Central China's Hubei Province for its talent development project, with annual salaries of 2.01 million yuan ($310,880), according to Changjiang Daily. 

Dr. Liao Minghui, one of the recruited graduates, from School of Electronic Information and Communications, HUST, who had published 10 articles in top conferences and journals as major author. Huawei promised to grant Liao a top-standard annual salary of 1.82 million yuan to 2.01 million yuan.

Another recruited graduate Wu Minyan got bachelor's degree from School of Computer Science & Technology, HUST, and has experience at Google, Ant Group and Microsoft. 

Ren Zhengfei, founder and CEO of Huawei initiated a "Genius Youth" program, which is to recruit 20 to 30 young people from around the world in 2019, and recruit 200 to 300 youths in 2020, aimed at injecting vitality into Huawei's workforce. 

"Huawei has an extremely strict interview process for the 'Genius Youths' program," said Zhang Jizeng, who had been recruited by Huawei via the program in 2020. Zhang noted that interviewee must pass seven rounds of interviews including resume check, written exam, several director interviews, CEO interview and HR interview and so on.

According to a revealed document from Huawei, eight recruited "Genius Youths" from HUST, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Tsinghua University and Peking University have three different salary standards: 896,000 to 1.008 million yuan, 1.405 million to 1.565 million yuan and 1.82 million yuan to 2.01 million yuan. 

In Huawei's 2020 Annual Report, the number of employees reached 197,000 and the amount of salary & bonus was 139.095 billion yuan. The calculated average salary of Huawei employees reached 70,600 yuan.
