A: Theoretically speaking, how long could you last on a desert island?

设想一下,在一座荒岛上,你最长能待多久？

B: Heavens! That's hard for me to imagine, I probably wouldn't last a day.

A: In China's Yellow Sea there is a small islet called Kaishan Island. It is really small. The islet is far from the mainland and the conditions are harsh. Under these conditions, a husband and wife guarded  the island for 32 years.

位于中国黄海有一座叫开山岛的小岛,面积很小。小岛远离陆地,条件恶劣。在这种环境下,有一对守岛人夫妇坚守了32年。

B: They had to have experienced many difficulties and much loneliness. As I see it, this isn't much different than living in outer space.

A: I agree with your opinion. Their spirit was unswerving. I admire them.

B: This really moves me. They are great and worth our respect.
