The Beijing Music Festival (BMF) will return to the stages at a variety of venues in China's capital city from October 9 to 24, the event's organizers announced on Tuesday.
As one of the largest classical music events in China, the 24th BMF will host 20 main concerts, from symphonic music to chamber music, under the theme of Masters and Celebrations. An important part of BMF, the Carnival event will take place at Sanlitun and feature over 30 performances and events mixed with elements like new classics, new Chinese style and new visions.
Children's concerts, Music at Noon concerts, master classes, lectures and other public events aimed at various demographics are also on the schedule.
The opening concert, a symphonic-choral concert entitled
Under the Brilliant Sun, will be staged by the BMF Festival Orchestra created by the China Music Association Symphony Orchestra Alliance together with the Lanzhou Concert Hall Chorus, led by conductor Zhang Guoyong.
