Chinese weightlifter Shi Zhiyong won his second Olympic gold medal with a world record-breaking performance in the men's 73-kilogram category at Tokyo 2020 on Wednesday.
A late challenge by his closest opponent pushed Shi to go for 198 kilograms that ties the world record in his third attempt in the clean and jerk, before a new world record in total was born.
Shi was the third Chinese man to win gold in Tokyo following Chen Lijun's success in the 67-kilogram category and Li Fabin's victory in the 61-kilogram division.
China has now won four golds in weightlifting with Hou Zhihui winning in the women's 49-kilogram class.
