Authorities in Hanshan county, East China's Anhui Province, have punished two community workers for their improper behavior in a raid against an off-campus class which violated epidemic prevention rules.

The community worker surnamed Wang was rude when Jia, the person who was in charge of the class, refused to open the door for epidemic prevention checks. Wang was later given an intra-Party warning. 

Another community worker surnamed Li was admonished as he did not wear a mask in accordance with epidemic prevention and control rules at the site, according to the notice. 

The issue grabbed wide attention after a controversial video went viral online Friday. In the video, a man smashes a door open and races into the room full of young students before dragging the teacher out of the room. 

Another notice on Friday said local authorities would deal with the relevant workers who did not live up to expected standards when they raided the off-campus class.

Many netizens have criticized the behavior of the two community law-enforcement workers, saying it's understandable they target illegal gatherings during the epidemic, but that did so in a rude and improper way.

Hanshan authorities further said it will strictly follow the epidemic prevention and control rules, learn the lessons and standardize their enforcement works.
