Police in Jiaozuo, Central China's Henan Province, are investigating into a case in which a woman slapped an anti-epidemic worker after she was asked to register her health code.
The woman, around 60 years old, was shown in the video posted on Monday trying to hit the enforcer with her purse several times after he asked her to scan a health code, a common process that allows authorities to easily track cases and close contacts, when entering a building.
The enforcer managed to dodge it a few times, but she eventually hit him.
Property management of the building said on Tuesday that they called the police, who confirmed the case but refused to reveal further details.
Also on Monday, a Beijing resident surnamed Li refused to scan a health code when entering a building. Li insulted and pushed around worker. Beijing Dongcheng district police station said on Wednesday that they have detained Li for causing bad social influence.
