"Paddle for a moment of pleasure, a little carelessness can cause lying in a stretcher ..." Recently, the short video on drowning prevention, written, directed and acted by police officers from the Hexiangqiao police station in Longhui, Central China's Hunan Province, has gone viral on Chinese social media.
The video shows a policeman playing the role of a student carrying a backpack who goes to swim in a river, ignoring the warning sign "Deep Water, No Swimming.'' The student ends up drowning and is carried on a stretcher made of leaves by policemen and carelessly buried by the river.
Another group of young men on a picnic decides to swim due to the heat. They end up with the same fate.
With a simple but catchy melody and popular lyrics, it tells people that "swimming in the summer is fun, but safety is more important."
According to Longhui county police, the purpose of this short drowning prevention video is to remind both adults and children to be safe as drowning accidents go up in summer.
The vigorous and humorous performance of several police officers in the video has been well received and praised by Chinese netizens, who said that this kind of drowning prevention propaganda is more vivid and interesting, and is also more easily accepted by more young people.
