The revenue of China's logistics services industry grew 14 percent year-on-year to reach 179.2 trillion yuan ($27.6 trillion) in the first seven months of 2021, despite the impact of high temperatures, heavy rains and intermittent coronavirus outbreaks, according to data released by China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing (CFLP) on Wednesday.
The figures reflect that logistics services sector growth slowed in July compared with June, which has been attributed to seasonal factors, with both the supply and demand softening.
He Hui, assistant president of CFLP, said that although the growth in the logistics services industry has dropped, the sector's revenue still outperformed pre-epidemic level in terms of demands and market scale, which shows logistics operation maintains stable and positive growth momentum.
He said the global economic recovery has contributed to the growth of China's logistics industry, with recent volatility being created by "seasonable factors." Over the long term, the growth rate will likely to decline, but the logistic sector will remain stable.
