The surviving tradition of hand-washing clothes in Sudan

Despite the increased use of washing machines, some Sudanese keep the old tradition of providing service of hand-washing clothes as a way of making a living.

Hand-washing is better than machine-washing in some ways, as it usually saves more water and energy, causes less damage to the fabric, and achieves better cleaning.
