Qinghai-Tibet electricity network project
China's Qinghai-Tibet electricity network project has helped transmitted a record amount of hydro-power so far in 2021, China News Service reported on Thursday.
The grid had transmitted 5 billion kilowatt-hours of hydro power, generated in northeastern part of Tibet Autonomous Region so far in 2021, with daily transmission volume hitting 10 million kilowatt-hours.
The accumulated transmitted hydro power during the whole year of 2021 is forecast to see a 1.5 times increase from last year, said the report.
Qinghai-Tibet electricity network project was built in Tibet Autonomous Region and neighboring Qinghai Province, and was completed at the end of 2011 with a total investment of 16.29 billion yuan ($2.51 billion).
As the project enters its 10th anniversary this year, it had transmitted 8.6 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity to Tibet.
