Two new animated works debuted at the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) on Thursday.
Animated film
Door Gods features an art form that is reminiscent of traditional Chinese New Year pictures, while also incorporating Peking Opera performances in 8K high definition, the Beijing Youth Daily reported on Sunday.
Door gods, that are the gods for guarding gates, is a kind of painting people paste on their doors aimed to ward off evil spirits during Chinese New Year. The film tells the story of two of these gods, who fight each other so hard that they forget their duties and so they are abandoned by people.
The second animation,
Dream Winter Olympic Games, is based on Beijing's 2022 Winter Olympic Games and stars two characters named Bingbing Rabbit and Gentle Bear, who originated from the traditional Chinese handicraft known as "the Rabbit Clay Figurine" and the giant panda, China's national treasure.
The studio said it hopes to popularize the history of the Winter Olympics in animated form and explain the rules of winter sports competitions to encourage the public to better integrate into the atmosphere of the upcoming Winter Olympic Games.
