A total of 200,000 shots of recombinant COVID-19 vaccine produced by Chinese manufacturer CanSinoBIO arrived in Argentina on Tuesday, the company announced.

It is the second batch of shots Argentina received from Chinese producers within a week. About 1.74 million doses produced by Sinopharm, another Chinese manufacturer, arrived in the country on Saturday.

In total, more than 20 million Chinese shots have been delivered to Argentina, accounting for more than one third of the 57 million shots the country has received so far.

The newly arrived CanSinoBIO shots will be used to vaccinate the homeless and refugees in Argentina, according to local media.

The Argentine health authority approved CanSinoBIO vaccine for emergency use in June, about four months after they authorized the use of Sinopharm shots in February.
