Traditional Chinese Medicine TCM has become increasingly popular in recent years, although it is facing controversial debates in some other countries. In China, TCM has enchanted more and more young people who have decided to take part in this industry. For example, Huachi, a county in Northwest China's Gansu Province, was once a famous national poverty-stricken county. Now, it has transformed into a rich wonderland with medicinal materials everywhere. Herbs like scutellaria baicalensis and honeysuckle have become the "new prescription" for villagers to get rich. College students who return to their hometowns to start their own businesses have boosted the trend. However, behind the prosperity of TCM, it is worth reminding that drug manufacturers should in the meantime adapt to local conditions and ensure quality of these medicines when expanding the industry. This can become the real "panacea" for Chinese industrial development.
