Chinese embassy in the UK reminded Chinese nationals in the country to strengthen safety precautions after a number of attacks against Chinese nationals, mostly students, happened in Cambridge, Sheffield and other places in the UK.
The embassy released a statement on Tuesday to remind Chinese nationals to be vigilant, try to escape as soon as possible whenever they encounter undesirable provocations and remember the offenders' physical features to report to the police in a timely manner.
According to the embassy, several Chinese nationals have been attacked in Cambridge, Sheffield and other places in the UK recently and most of the victims are overseas Chinese students studying in the UK.
China's embassy and consulates expressed sympathy and solicitude to the victims or visited them through the local diaspora to further learn about the situation and lodged solemn representations with the British police and related universities, urging the UK authorities to solve the cases with all efforts and apprehend the offenders as soon as possible to effectively protect the safety and legitimate rights and interests of Chinese nationals, especially those of overseas students.
The embassy reminded Chinese nationals to also inform the cases to the Chinese embassy and consulates to follow the progress of the cases.
