Police in Nanjing, East China's Jiangsu Province, have recently busted a criminal gang of over 40 people while they were on a holiday outing on an island of a nearby lake, celebrating their "fruitful" achievements by illegally trading personal information and selling online game accounts to teenagers.

The gang's "business mode" was that they would rent out authenticated online game accounts via e-commerce platforms to buyers, who would then use them to escape the supervision of relevant departments on minors' time limits spent on games.

Apart from accounts information including name, ID card number, and such, the gang also provides dynamic avatar gifs for face verification of the accounts, police noted. "After purchasing their services, buyers can use the information provided to log in to the game, and then pass the face verification with the avatar gifs."

It is worth noting that one of the gang members, who was also caught on the island, was still busy "working" devotedly using a laptop and several phones even when others were having fun on their outing.
