The procuratorate in Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region now has a new job. It is helping quarantined farmers to harvest their crops, which gains the admiration of netizens for truly serving the people.

In the past few weeks, several COVID-19 cases have been reported in some cities in Xinjiang. During the National Day holidays, Khorgos city, in Ili Prefecture, also reported infections. In order to control the spread of the epidemic, tourists have been asked to stay in Ili temporarily. Although the local authorities actively coordinated hotels to accommodate the stranded travelers, there are still thorny problems faced by tourists.

On Monday, a netizen on China's Twitter-like platform Sina Weibo, who claimed to be a farmer in Ili Tekes county, reported that he was quarantined in Yining city due to the epidemic and the family's 100 mu (6.67 hectares) of farmland were about to rot.

The administrator of the Sina Weibo account of the Xinjiang Procuratorate noticed the post on Tuesday and immediately contacted local procuratorate after learning about the situation, and promised to coordinate and resolve the matter. The local procuratorate stated that if the farmer could not go home to harvest the crops, someone would be sent to help. In less than half an hour, the farmer left a message saying that the matter had been resolved and expressed his gratitude to the Xinjiang Procuratorate.

After this, many netizens left comments on Sina Weibo and praised the Xinjiang Procuratorate saying that it truly served the people.

"We are doing everything we can to help the people today, and the people will find ways to help us tomorrow. That is the spirit of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and now we are practicing the Party's purpose," Xinjiang Procuratorate's Sina Weibo account posted.
