Although China and India have border tensions from time to time and currently the bilateral ties are still tense, the exchanges between the two peoples, especially generation Z, should not be interrupted. The strengthening of ties between student organizations and youth of the two sides could even contribute to the solution of tensions.

Vicky Mahesari, General Secretary of the All-India Students' Federation, member of the National Council and the Communist Party of India, shared with the Global Times on Tuesday during an interview before an event organized by the International Liaison Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.

Mahesari said that India is not only having border tensions and other problems with China but also with other neighbors including Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan. All of these tensions are "because of the internal conflict that our government is having [in India]," he mentioned.

The young people of the two countries would like to look beyond the tensions and see a bright future. So, when China-India tensions remain unsolved, exchanges and cooperation between the generation-Z of the two nations should not stop and could even be strengthened, Mahesari said, noting that the communication between the youth of both countries could even create a more friendly atmosphere "to convince our governments to come to a common ground and tell them that the border tension should be ended."
