Scenes of students in Northwest China's Gansu Province singing while waiting to take nucleic acid tests during a rainy evening on Monday to express their gratitude to the medical staffers have touched Chinese netizens.
In a video spread on China's Twitter-like platform Sina Weibo on Wednesday, the students were loudly singing songs including Unrestrained and Far-ranging, a popular song of legendary Chinese band Beyond, at the campus in Gansu's Tianshui City, where COVID-19 resurged since the end of October.
A student surnamed Li, who shot the video, said that they voluntarily sang the songs to thank the medical staffers. "They carried out the nucleic acid tests for us in the pouring rain the whole day," he says in the video.
The heartwarming scene impressed many Weibo users, who said the students had a grateful heart. "Their singing lit up the night," one commented.
Tianshui reported 13 local confirmed cases on Tuesday, all of which were found through nucleic acid tests.
