Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin reiterated at a routine press conference on Thursday that China would never allow the US to infringe on China's national sovereignty and interfere in China's domestic issues.

The remarks came as US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said on Wednesday that the US and its allies would take unspecified "action" if China were to use force to alter the status quo over Taiwan island, Reuters reported.

Blinken repeated regular US statements that Washington's role is to make sure the island has the means to defend itself.

Wang noted Thursday that Blinken's speech neglects facts and violates international law.

The one-China principle and the three China-US joint communiqués constitute the political foundation of China-US relations. The so-called "Taiwan Relations Act" unilaterally concocted by the US gravely violates international law, basic norms governing international relations, and the one-China principle. It is illegal and invalid, Wang said.

Wang said Taiwan authorities and some Taiwan secessionists tried to deny the one-China principle and expand their activity space. It is the root for the current tense cross-Straits relations.

Any behavior challenging the one-China principle, resisting China's reunification and supporting Taiwan secessionism would end in failure, Wang said.
