The 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) concluded its sixth plenary session on Thursday. A vital agenda of the meeting was it reviewed and adopted a landmark resolution on the major achievements and historical experiences of the CPC's 100 years of endeavors. China is going through a critical period of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. Fortunately, the CPC has been around 100 years. It has weathered various difficulties and obstacles, achieved success step by step and accumulated extremely rich experience. At this time, a comprehensive summary will promote the sobriety and confidence of the Party, inspire people across the country, and be of great significance to fulfilling its great mission in the new era. 

The achievement of the CPC-led China can be called a miracle, and such an experience is the only one in the world. No one could teach us how to combine Marxism with Chinese practices. The formation and extension of China's path is an epic original creation in human political history. 

Today, China is facing a new historical juncture. In the past, the main battlefield of revolution and construction was in China. We had frictions and struggles with external forces, but China is the arena for the CPC and the Chinese people. At that time, our interests could hardly go far. Even if they went far, they would stop without going deeper or further. But since the 18th CPC National Congress, the situation has gradually yet fundamentally changed. 

The growth of China's national power has been pushing the whole country to the center of the world stage, crossing the tipping point where China could avoid major power frictions. The US has defined China as its biggest strategic competitor, which fundamentally reshaped China's strategic environment. The changes that came along with it have rewritten the backdrop and connotation of China's many missions. They have also boosted new risks that China confronts. 

In the past, the CPC was leading the Chinese people to achieve what is traditionally called domestic victory and progress. But now, it has to lead the country to deal with the biggest storms in the world, the most powerful and comprehensive siege from the US and its allies. It has to safeguard the development rights of the Chinese people on a global scale, push the most difficult and complicated balance of interests, and promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind. This is not only a continuation of the Chinese people's century-old dream, but also a brand new undertaking.

Because of that, the CPC must step up its study, continue to innovate, adapt to the rapid changes of scenes where China fights its way, and prepare itself for a higher mission. Otherwise, a dangerous political deficit will emerge.

Fortunately, after the 18th CPC National Congress, the CPC swiftly took action to overcome new challenges. In practice, the Party formed a solid core status of Xi Jinping, and strengthened the backbone of the Party and the people. The Party's ability to lead politically, to guide through theory, to organize the people, and to inspire society, has been strengthening. The external strategic pressure that China is facing has been unprecedented since the reform and opening-up. However, our calmness in dealing with the situation and the obvious effect of the struggle are equally outstanding. This is a solid dynamic balance.

Looking back at history, we are more clear-minded. The experience and strength we learned from history are also magnified in the same proportion as our cause. Perhaps only the CPC can bring a major country to the world's attention in just a few decades, and only the CPC can lead the people to uphold this position and give it new significance.

It is believed that the CPC will fulfill its mission, and that the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core will continue to show extraordinary leadership and ability to take challenges under control. It will lead the Chinese people through this unprecedented test in Chinese history on the world stage. It will make historic contributions to the realization of the enormous scale of social modernization of mankind, and the fundamental resolution of the geopolitical dilemma of the rise of great powers.
