Amid the recent epidemic flare-ups in many parts of the country, medical workers have risen to the situation and placed themselves in the riskiest areas to conduct nucleic acid testing for residents. Not only have they won great respect for caring for the people, but now they have extended such care to pets.
At a residential community in Chengdu, Southwest China's Sichuan Province, a cat has been locked in an apartment bathroom for three days after members of the household tested positive for coronavirus and were sent to hospitals for treatment.
Upon learning about the cat, medical workers brought cans and snacks to the place along with medical toolkit to test the cat for possible COVID-19 infection.
Fearing that the anal swabs may be uncomfortable for the cat, they brought a professional cat-lover to calm it down.
Before they left the apartment, they cleaned the cat's toilet, refilled its water and food bowls, and opened a can of cat food to award it for behaving well.
The cat meowed gently as they walked outside the door, as if to thank them for caring for it with so much love.
