The Fila Kids Junior Tennis Challenger Finals for students 10 and 12 years old, a high-end teenager tennis match in China, kicked off at National Tennis Center in Beijing on Sunday.
Following the weekly competition on November 7, when the championships and silver medal winners for male and female's singles match came out, the final competition was played at the diamond court.
Since the competition started on September 25, it has attracted high attention, especially from parents. Media reports said the open match tickets sold out immediately when they were released.
A total of 432 teenagers from 15 provinces and regions have participated in the competition and the number is expected to exceed 800, media reports said.
The match sets the best example for teenager tennis competition in China.
Chinese tennis player Peng Shuai, who won two women's doubles Grand Slams, along with executives from China Open, a Beijing-based company focusing on promotion and organization of Chinese tennis matches, and representatives of sports brand FILA which sponsored the tournament, attended the opening ceremony on Sunday morning.
