A new exhibition featuring over 60 Chinese paintings from artist Chen Tian kicked off at the Guangzhou Book Center in Guangzhou, South China's Guangdong Province, on Thursday. With three sections covering his landscape series and lotus series, the new show hosted by Highland Culture carries the artist's hope of returning to China's traditional culture.
As an active young artist, Chen has shown great potential in landscape, figures and birds and flower painting. Xue Yongnian, an art critic and professor from the Central Academy of Fine Arts, said that Chen's artworks offer a fresh feeling with innovative paintings basing on traditional techniques.
The artist's works have also toured to the US, Australia and Japan in solo exhibitions.
The exhibition is set to run until December 8.
