panic / 心慌 / (xīnhuānɡ )

A: Have you ever experienced being scared away by a nightmare?

(nǐ yǒuméiyǒu bèi èmènɡ xiàxǐnɡde jīnɡlì?)

B: Yes! I' ve been scared into a panic by a nightmare. My heart ends up beating "boom boom boom" super hard and then I can't sleep for awhile and need to wait a long time before I can sleep again.

(yǒua! wǒ yǒushíhòu bèi èmènɡ xiàdé xīnhuānɡ, xīnzānɡ "dēnɡdēnɡdēnɡ" tiàode lìhài, yīshíbànhuìér shuì bùzhele, xūyào děnɡhǎojiǔ cáinénɡ zàicì rùshuì.)

A: Me too. A few days ago I went to see a doctor of traditional Chinese medicine. He said this is the impact of a weak kidney and said that I have to do all I can to not get emotionally excited and not to watch frightening or scary things. I also have to eat food to strengthen my kidneys.

(wǒyěshì. qiánjǐtiān wǒqù zīxúnle zhōnɡyī dàfū, tāshuō wǒshì shènxūde biǎoxiàn, rànɡwǒ pínɡshí jìnliànɡ bùyào rànɡ qínɡxù tàijīdònɡ, bùyàokàn bǐjiào jīnɡxiǎnde huòzhě kǒnɡbùde dōnɡxī. ránhòu chīyīxiē bǔshènde shíwù.)

B: What foods strengthen your kidneys? I want to buy some to eat.

(shíme shíwù bǔshèna? wǒ yěqù mǎidiǎnchī.)

A: He said beef and mutton are the main meats; for vegetables, you mainly have fennel and yams.
