The farce staged by the so-called "Uyghur Tribunal" reached its climax on Thursday with the Tribunal issuing a final ruling. It's well known that the Tribunal is not a judicial institution, nor does it have any authority to carry out judicial activities, international judicial investigations or related trials. In a legal sense, it has staged an absurd drama that's serving Western politics. 

There are non-governmental pseudo-courts in the West. But those so-called courts are generally marginal. They cannot garner attention if filing accusations against small countries, and if they criticize the US, the capital-controlled media will neglect them. Those "courts" are too maverick, and therefore cannot receive response in the West. 

But "Uyghur Tribunal" is an absolute exception. The game of it pretending to be a court has been played out as if the Tribunal is a real court. Everyone knows it's a fake one, but the British and other Western media outlets have interacted with it in an unprecedented enthusiastic manner. They are keen on following and reporting the Tribunal's whole process from "trial" to "ruling" and have almost treated it as a real court. No mainstream Western media outlet stood out and said to it: Don't get into the drama too deeply, it's just a pseudo-court.   

Three British MPs sanctioned by China were present when the pseudo-court held a press conference to publicize its "ruling." They had an obvious motivation to vent anger at China. But even so, they should have followed the rules rather than deliberately confuse ideological activities with judicial ones. The British parliament as the country's legislative body should feel shameful about those MPs. 

The fundamental reason is that the "Uyghur Tribunal" this time has catered to the US and the West's ugly political demands to use the Xinjiang issue to suppress China. It requires a lot of serious evidence to convict Xinjiang of "genocide." However, such evidence doesn't exist at all. Even if real courts in the US and the West wanted to do so, they wouldn't because they have no evidence. 

Therefore, few countries such as the US can only make political accusations against China, and forcibly put the label of "genocide" on China. They cannot present evidence, so they never talk about it. 

Then came the "Uygur Tribunal," which was funded mainly by the World Uyghur Congress. While the real court did not dare to file a case, this pseudo-court did, which is exactly what anti-China politicians and public opinion forces in the West want to see. This fake court is shamelessly fabricating stories. It will provide whatever materials that are needed for anti-China propaganda in the US and the West. Its so-called final verdict is used by those anti-China forces as an excuse to carry on their mission.

The reason why the "Uyghur Tribunal" is so bold is that its judicial performance has filled a gap in the US and Western attacks on China. Those Western media that advocate professionalism and the questioning spirit will never expose the obvious fraud of this pseudo-court, but will only use its fake materials tacitly. No matter how much it fabricates stories, it will not be exposed as a scandal in the West.

Various information indicated that the World Uyghur Congress "hosted" this farce, and a large number of anti-China forces in the West have become its "co-organizers" and "sponsors." The reason why this farce by the "tribunal" can be staged on the main platform of the West's attack on the governance of China's Xinjiang is because the political stance and value judgments are placed in the supreme position in the West, and they actually have the power to override the law.

The anti-China movement initiated by the US is becoming hysterical. The boundary of reason has been washed away, and Pandora's Box has been opened.
