B: Nope, but I really hope I get the opportunity to see one someday.

A: I remember seeing some fireflies when I was a kid, but I never saw any afterwards. In my mind, fireflies are mysterious insects.

B: They carried out a survey to try to understand the status of fireflies in the city. Besides this, they are also providing information about fireflies to the public.  

他们开展了一项调研,试图去了解城市里萤火虫的生存状况。除此之外,他们还会给大众普及关于萤火虫的知识。
